We negotiated directly and had a great seven day trip timed to coincide with independence day. Highly recommended! The one area in which they could improve is to increase the amount of communication about the schedule  and what's ahead, but I'd definitely go with them again.

My trip to Eritrea exceeded all expectations, and a big part of that is thanks to the incredible work of Saba’s agency. Everything from permits to transport and accommodation was handled smoothly, allowing us to focus entirely on experiencing the country. What really stood out was how well the trip was adapted to our interests. The itinerary felt thoughtful and balanced, leaving room for curiosity, spontaneity, and genuine encounters rather than rushing from one highlight to another. Our guide, Mehreteab (Salvatore), shared with his calm presence a deep cultural knowledge, and genuine love for Eritrea. He was always attentive, generous with explanations, and happy to adjust plans whether that meant stopping for photos, answering endless questions, or exploring something unplanned. We had the best trip with explore ! Our guide was Mehretab (aka Salvatore). He showed us every site in the country we could possibly see, guided us on all the best places to eat, took us to meet friends of his to give us the perspective of the locals, and he turned out to be one of the highlights of our whole trip. 10/10 would recommend.

I traveled to Eritrea with two friends and had an absolutely unforgettable experience, thanks to Explore Eritrea. From the very beginning, Saba organized everything with great care, flexibility, and professionalism: from permits and logistics to an entirely custom itinerary that let us truly experience the country. Our guide Mehreteab (aka Salvatore) was outstanding: incredibly knowledgeable, insightful, and passionate about Eritrea’s history, culture, and people. He also showed endless patience with our constant requests to stop for photos and additional sites. Traveling with him felt less like a tour and more like discovering the country with a trusted local friend. Eritrea is a beautiful, welcoming, and fascinating country, and this trip allowed us to experience it in a deep and meaningful way. From Asmara’s architecture to Keren, Massawa, the Dahlak islands, and beyond. Everything was smooth, well organized, and thoughtfully planned. Ci siamo appoggiati all'agenzia della Signora Saba e siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti del suo lavoro: per il nostro gruppo di 11 persone avevamo a disposizione un pullman da circa 30 posti, adatto a percorrere anche tratti di strada sterrata,  la guida Hapta molto competente, attento, preparato storicamente e parlante bene italiano (più altre lingue) e per i 4 gorni alle isole Dahlak avevamo una nave con cuochi che ci hanno preparato il pesce che man mano pescavano. Sulle isole l'agenzia ci ha formìnito tende, materassini, cuscini e lenzuola tutto pulitissimo e gli hotel che ci hanno prepnotato sono sempre stati al meglio della possibilità dei paesi in cui abbiamo soggiornato. Viaggiamo sempre senza l'appoggio di agenzie, ma in Eritrea non si poteva fare diversamente, perchè non si possono affittare auto senza autista.

After travelling the world for over 25 years, my experience with this agency in Eritrea stands out as the most disappointing. Saba, the owner, demonstrated a lack of competence despite claiming two decades of experience. Her dishonesty and lack of transparency were evident throughout. Furthermore, the guide she assigned us is totally inadequate for the job and uninterested in fulfilling our requests, such as visiting nearby villages around Keren. His explanations were vague and unhelpful, leaving us feeling utterly dissatisfied. STAY AWAY FROM THIS AGENCY
